On Wednesday 21 July Morison Global held its North America virtual conference 2021, which welcomed 77 attendees from all over the world. The conference theme was post COVID-19 recovery – how are we adapting, changing and evolving?
We were delighted to welcome keynote speaker, Tom Hood, CPA, CITP, CGMA, the current EVP of Business Growth and Engagement for AICPA-CIMA and the Business Learning Institute who kick-started the event with an excellent session ‘The next normal, now! From essential to indispensable’. In reimagining the next normal as now, Tom provided ways to create a competitive advantage to elevate and adapt to the challenge of the post-Covid world. Members were able to interact and take part in polls via the Morison Global app.
The second part of the conference took place as break-out group discussions centred around Audit, Practice Management and Tax. The focus of these discussions was on the effects of the pandemic on these key areas of the profession. These sessions enabled lively discussions and opportunities for members to share their experiences.
We would like to thank Sandra Ataman, Chair of Morison Global North America (Partner of McCarney Group LLP) and the rest of the North America Board (Paul Bercovici, Marks Paneth LLP; Yelena Epova, Aprio; James Gomes, Calibre CPA Group, PLLC; Trey Kennedy, BKM Sowan Horan LLP and Evan Stephens, Sensiba San Filippo LLP) for their contribution and support in organising this event and for facilitating the breakout sessions. Thanks also to all members who participated at this event and of course to our keynote speaker, Tom Hood, CPA, CITP, CGMA.
The next North America regional event will be on 14 September and will be a joint event with Latin America – further details will follow.
